In the online world of MLM, distractions are everywhere and can keep you from taking action in your network marketing business.
There is more information and product launches now days that it can literally make your head spin with confusion, and it can seriously hamper your ability to get results.
Don’t get me wrong I am not opposed to great products and increasing our skill sets by any means. However, simply buying a course or some type of info product will not guarantee your success.
There is one key component that will separate you from the rest of the crowd, and that is taking action in your network marketing business and taking action on what you have learned.
If you want more leads for your business, you have to take action and do the actual marketing part to begin to see any results.
What I find to really hamper myself is when I have Skype on, or have my emails constantly open and dinging in the background while I am trying to work.
Really what this is, is a recipe for distractions galore, and recipe to get you off doing something other than what you should be doing.
Now I understand that these are necessary to use, and its important for communication, but the distraction factor is massive, and your productivity factor goes down as well.
So lowering your distraction factor is a must if you want to get things accomplished. Set a specific time to use these tools each day, and stick to it.
The other day I was out on a day fishing trip with my brother-in-law and some friends, and this was on my mind. Check out the video and let me know what you think…

Mark this is a great post. It’s so easy to get distracted when you’re working online, particularly using Social Media etc.
I’m very easily distracted! I have to be really anal about my time and plan meticulously as I have a terrible habit of procrastinating!!
Taking action is so important in having a successful business and you need to be very focused when working from home.
Loving your blog Mark, so pleased I found it:)

Fantastic video Mark! You are so right on about the distractions. I’m guilty of it myself. In my old business, I would have people stop by to “talk” on their day off and keep me from getting my work done. Now, it’s the shiny objects. It takes a lot of discipline but unless those emails are saying something like “a deposit was just made in your PayPal account,” they must wait! Thanks for sharing.

I agree Joe, there are some great products out there, but if they don’t fit into your overall goal, don’t get them, just keep your head down and go for it!!

Mark that video is awesome and I love the line about starting the day on your agenda instead of somebody else’s agenda. In my other business, I let all phone calls go to voicemail because if I took each call as they came in, I would never get my work done. I have also taught my clients to book 6 months in advance. What a concept, the phone doesn’t ring much at all anymore and if it does, it is a new customer, and my voice mail tells them i have a waiting list. How perfect is that!

So true, Mark! It is so easy to get distracted. Bottom line, once we’ve made the decision to start our online marketing journey, we need to be diligent about our usage of time. That’s why it’s so important to focus on our goals then put the blinders on. Taking massive action to get the results I want! So glad you shared this post.

Hi Mark,
Yes indeed distractions are like poison when you are working online. It takes discipline, determination and organization to get the right things done. I tend to make lists and then just proceed to cross things off the list as I get them accomplished. Turining email off can help as well.
