It's no secret that video is hot online and has been for quite a while.

As a matter of fact, online video is so popular that back in 2014 Mark Zuckerberg said: “In five years, most of Facebook will be video”.

He said this in November of 2014, so we are already long past this statement and deep into this trend and it's not slowing down.

If you're a home-based business owner this spells “OPPORTUNITY” for those that see it and run with it.

Here are my top 3 reasons you MUST be using video in your business if you want to succeed in your home business in 2020 and beyond.

Reason #1 – Creates Emotional Connection

Have you ever just stopped to ask yourself why celebrities and rockstars are so popular?

The answer is simple. Video.

If you lived back in the '80s like me (I am dating myself here…lol) you would have seen when MTV came on the scene and exploded in popularity.

Why was MTV so popular in the '80s?

People saw their favorite artists in a whole new way which caused them to create an emotional connection that literally sold millions of albums for artists.

Emotions are super powerful. Remember the saying that says “People will rarely remember what you told them, but they will always remember the way you make them feel”.

If you understand this, you will then know why video is so powerful today.

Here is a video from my No Fear Video Marketing System course on the Psychology of Video and why it's so crucial today to implement in your business.

Reason #2 – Preferred Method of Content Consumption

Today's marketplace is infatuated with video content. It is by far the preferred method of information consumption online today.

Why do you think videos go viral all the time? According to statistics, approximately 76% of people are more likely to buy a product or service after watching a video.

Sites like YouTube are so popular that it very well could take over Google as the #1 search engine online in the near future.

Cable companies are freaking out because more and more people are choosing to watch what they want by using online videos than paying for ridiculous monthly rates for channels they don't watch.

This is one of the main reasons you should be using video today. You must go where the people are and create content that the people watch.

Reason #3 – Increases Audience Engagement

Your audience is 10x more likely to engage with you and your message when you communicate with them via video.

Imagine being able to engage with your audience right where they are currently? Stop for one second and just ask yourself how many videos you watch on your cell phone?

Every single person on the planet that has a smartphone now has the ability to broadcast their own TV show to the masses.

Just think how incredibly powerful that is? There are people on YouTube that have better ratings than many top-rated TV shows. Wrap your head around that one!

Getting your prospect's attention today is a crucial part of marketing online. There simply is no better way to increase that engagement than with online video.

Conclusion

When you take all of these three reasons and look at each of them, you will see that if you are going to attempt to build a successful business online today, it will be very difficult to do if online video is not a massive part of your overall strategy.

One successful key to being successful in any business endeavor is to always go where the people are and right in front of them.

There are so many great ways to connect with video nowadays from Facebook or Instagram stories to LIVE broadcasting and YouTube.

Pick one or two and go after it…

After you do this consistently for a period of time, you will find that people will begin to gravitate toward your message. and you will be well on your way to creating an audience that will not only hang on your every

Do this over and over and you will be well on your way to creating an audience that will not only hang on your every word but will buy products and services you recommend that are in line with your overall message.
