The Top Ten WordPress Plugins That Will Make Your Blog a Lead Magnet

Top Ten WordPress Plugins

Do a search on the top ten WordPress plugins, and you are bound to find all different types of results.

My goal is that hopefully you will find one or two on this list that will help you get more traffic and leads for your business.

This list is made up of what I believe to be some of the most important plugins when setting up a blog for lead generation purposes. If you want to maximize the potential of your blog, this list of top ten WordPress plugins will help you achieve that goal.

Let’s get started!

The Top Ten WordPress Plugins:

1. All in one SEO Pack

For those of you that are seasoned bloggers out there, you know the essential nature of this plugin. This basically optimizes your blog for search engines. On each post you make, you have can enter the title containing your keyword, and a description that are optimized for the keyword you are endeavoring to rank for in the search engines. Without question an essential plugin for the top ten WordPress plugin list.

2. Popup Domination

This one is responsible for 80-90% of the leads that come into my blog on a daily basis. It’s not just any pop up. This one is professional looking and for some reason is just not as annoying as a lot of the other pop ups I have seen. Coming at number two on the top ten WordPress plugins list, you can see from the picture below how sleek and sharp this pop-up looks. Really worth the small investment that it is, for the return it can bring you. Definitely worthy to be on the top ten WordPress plugins list. *HINT – If you click on the link to purchase, make sure you go to close the page as it will offer a $10 discount off of the $47 price tag. Just looking out for your pocket-book. :-)

3. SEOPressor

This is another plugin that you must purchase to use. I have to say that there is no other plugin that I love more than this one. When writing articles for my blog and targeting certain keywords, it’s so easy to just follow the onscreen suggestions it makes to optimize your blog posts for search engines.

4. Cbnet Ping Optimizer

WordPress has a built-in feature that will ping the search engines you specify when you have updated your blog or posted an article. Unfortunately it can also over ping the search engines and make you look like a spammer when ever you edit your posts. This plugin will help you optimize your ping list so that it only pings at certain intervals that you set to make sure you don’t over ping the search engines. If you need a good ping list, you can check out my blog post on blog optimization and download the list, as well as watch the video on how to do it. Without question, this one deserves to be on the top ten wordpress plugins list hands down.

5. Digg Digg

Excellent all in one plugin for your social media share buttons. With this plugin you don’t need to download separate plugins for different social networks because most of the major social networks are included in this plug-in. All you need to do is download, install and configure, and you are good to go.

6. Pretty Link Lite

This plugin allows you to shorten links with your domain. You can track statistics for each link like how many hits each link receives, IP address of the hits, etc. Cloaking of links comes in the pro version which costs money, but unless you really plan on doing some serious promotion of affiliate links with your domain, the lite version is just fine. Great plugin!

7. Newsletter Sign-up

This is a slick little plugin designed to get you more subscribers to your list. Each time somebody leaves a comment, they have the option to just check the box right below the submit comment button and they can be subscribed to your Aweber list. With this plugin you can configure it to be pre-checked also, so anybody that leaves a comment will be automatically subscribed unless they un-check it before submission. When they are subscribed they will receive a double opt in confirmation. Great little plugin for increasing opt ins and worthy of the top ten wordpress plugins list. SIMPLY AWESOME!

8. Robots Meta

This cool plugin allows you to keep certain pages on your blog from being indexed by the search engines. For instance maybe you want to make a page that is strictly for your subscribers. You put your page or post together, check the “noindex, no follow” button, and your good to go. This plugin is also good for keeping duplicate content from showing up in the search engines such as your archives, categories etc. which can be configured in the settings area.

9. W3 Total Cache

This plugin comes in as a must on the top ten wordpress plugins list, especially as your site grows and gets more and more content on it. Google takes website speed into consideration when indexing your site. This runs silently in the background keeping your site optimized and loading quickly. This plugin helps to speed up your site by caching the latest version of it on your web host for quick viewing. This is one of the plugins that is absolutely necessary as a blogger.

10. WP Super Edit

This little plugin is one of my favorites and really adds a lot of functionality to the wysiwyg editor for pages and posts. This gives you the ability to change the font, the color, size, highlight, and much more. The toolbar is completely customizable with many buttons and functions to choose from. I highly recommend this plugin if your want to be able to customize your posts more.

These specific plugins have contributed greatly to the success of my blog. Compare these with your current list and see if any of them can be useful for you in what you’re doing.

Hey Mark, great looking blog man, dig the Christian perspective.

Quick question on your plug ins, have you found that google penalizes you for the pop up?

      Robb,

Thanks for the comments my friend. I have found the best thing to be when building your business online, is to be yourself. Thanks for the comments.

As far as a penalty from Google for the pop up, I have not seen anything that indicates to me that I am being penalized for the pop up. I monitor my Google webmasters account pretty closely and if there is a problem they will indicate it there. I am going to do a video training on this soon so that others can implement it (Google webmasters tools) on their blogs. It’s very easy to do, and its free. Stay tuned my friend.

I’m a sucker for any top plugins list and usually there is nothing new, but there are some here that I can really use namely: Digg digg, WP super edit and W3 total cache, although I am a bit wary of using too many that my site slows down.

    Thanks Mark

    Great stuff, Mark!

Lead generation is so important for almost any online business and the good thing about WordPress is, there are many useful plugins that make things so much easier.

Especially the W3 Total Cache … my site ran unbelievably faster when I finally plugged that in.

    Thanks for sharing!
