If you want more leads—and let’s be honest, who doesn’t—you’ve got to start using videos the right way.

In this post, I’m going to break down three specific types of lead-generating videos you can start creating today.

These videos have helped me and countless others bring in consistent leads, and they’ll do the same for you if you put them into action.

Let’s dive in.

1. The Value Video

The first type of video you should be creating is the value video. This is where you teach something or solve a problem your target audience is facing.

When you help someone overcome a specific challenge, they begin to see you as a go-to resource.

Let me give you a quick example. I made a video a while back on how to stop spam comments on Facebook. I still get comments and messages about that video today.

Why? Because it solved a real problem. That’s the power of value-driven content.

If you're in health and wellness, travel, real estate—whatever your niche—there are problems your audience is facing every day. Your job is to identify those problems, create content around them, and show up with a solution.

Maybe it’s a travel checklist or a home-buying to-do list. Solve the problem, and then wrap it up with a strong call to action. That’s how you generate leads with value.

2. The Story Video

Next up is one of my favorites—the story video. Why? Because stories are powerful. They connect with people on an emotional level, and emotion is what makes you memorable.

Let me give you an example from my own life. Back in 2008 during the real estate crash, my wife and I lost our home in California.

I was working in outside sales, and when the market tanked, my job became nearly impossible. I ended up getting laid off. We lost our house and moved to South America—Chile, where my wife is from.

While living there, I decided I was done putting my future in someone else’s hands. I started working on my online business full-time, but it was a struggle.

I’ll never forget the day I walked into the kitchen, my wife opened the fridge, and said, “Honey, we need food.” We had no money. I had $7 in my PayPal account, and I couldn’t even withdraw it because of international ATM fees.

That moment changed everything for me. I shifted my mindset, got to work, and within 90 days, I had my first five-figure month. That story creates a connection because many people have felt that desperation.

When you share your story—your real, raw experiences—you connect. And when people feel connected to you, they remember you.

3. The Invitation Video

The third type of video is the invitation video, or what I like to call the “blatant promo.” Sometimes it’s okay to just promote something outright. This type of video is where you confidently invite someone to check out a training, join a webinar, or learn more about a product.

Even here, you can weave in curiosity and a little storytelling. For instance, if you’re in health and wellness and lost 20 pounds using a specific product, share that.

Then say something like, “If you want to know how I did it, join me Tuesday night at 9 PM Eastern.” It’s simple, it’s direct, and it works.

These three videos—the value video, the story video, and the invitation video—are the perfect combo for building trust, authority, and most importantly… leads.
