Recently I sat down with the amazing Alli Mang I recently met at an event in Tampa, Florida. What really struck me about her was her story and her awesome energy.
Alli was one of the hosts of The Shopping Channel in Canada for 10 years and sold well over $30 million in products. I don't know about you, but I watched the shopping channels like crazy when I was a kid. Maybe that's why I love sales today…LOL
In this interview, I talked with her about her success as an entrepreneur and some of the nuggets she dropped were priceless.
Take the time to go through this entire interview, you will be glad you did.
Also, if you would like to see some of Alli's clips from The Shopping Channel, check out the video below.

Mark…Alli is terrific!!! Tips, takeaways: she mentioned Specificity in the beginng of your interview and ended it with being specific with/to/for your audience. Reminded me of a mentor (in another life) that would say “…to be terrific, you gotta be specific”. A fun(ny) moment/tip was when she spoke of how horribly she failed when she first auditioned for a TV Hostess job…takeaway is that she didn’t quit (obviously). Another awesome tip: for her first TV Jewelry Channel as the Guest for a Jewelry Company she’d done her homework for the jewelry (features and benfits), but, more importantly, (unknown to her) that she was there to sell her: passion/beauty/connection/dreams/excitement about the colors and designs of the jewelry to her audience–she said that she totally missed that critical part,i.e., basically that features tell, emotions sell. She mentioned that selling on the Channels was a Team Effort in that she had an earpiece in each ear with a producer talking in one ear and hearing about activity around her in the other ear. “Sales’ is not the Snake-oil hard sell of yesteryear but a communication of ideas that benefits your audience. I’ll cut it off, here. It was a great interview, Mark. Thank you.
I actually watched and listened to the entire video, really good one Mark. I didn’t know of her, but aware of the shopping channel. Enjoyed!
