How to Build a Personal Brand That Makes You Stand Out (Even When AI Knows Everything)

Pure information is dead. Your personal story and Brand is the edge you need to stand out.

Years ago, if you just shared good information and you presented it well, that was enough. You could get real results from that.

But you've probably noticed that's changed. Good information is one conversation with ChatGPT away right now.

So what's the fix? Your personal brand is the only differentiator left, not the information.

Why Your Personal Brand Has More Market Equity Than Anything Else

Now here's the thing. Everybody wants to talk about strategy.

The funnels, the algorithms, the posting schedules, the tools. And look, I use all of that stuff every single day.

But at the end of the day, none of it is what makes people choose you. Your personal brand has more market equity than anything you could ever build.

More than your product. More than your funnel, more than your email list.

Here's why this matters. Seven out of 10 people follow brands and creators who share their values.

People are not buying information anymore. They're buying you.

The truth is, learning how to build a personal brand comes down to four things. So let's dive into it.

The 4 Pillars of Building a Personal Brand

1. Your Beliefs

Number one, beliefs. What do you truly believe, and are you weaving that into your content?

Most people hide their beliefs because they're afraid of turning somebody off. I get it.

But your beliefs are exactly what pull the right people toward you (and it also repels people too). I talk about my faith.

I talk about what I believe about business, about family, about taking action instead of overthinking everything. Some people leave.

The right people stay. That's the point.

2. Your Values

Number two, values. What are your convictions? What won't you compromise on?

And how are your values different than your competitors? That last question is the one most people never ask.

Everybody in your niche is saying the same recycled stuff. Your values are where you draw the line.

Maybe you refuse to hype. Maybe you won't sell something you haven't used yourself.

Whatever it is, say it out loud in your content. People can't share your values if they never hear them.

3. Your Story

Number three, your story. And this one's a big deal.

Your story is what separates you from AI. AI has got really good information, but it doesn't have lived experience.

It doesn't have personal traumas and struggle and breakthrough. You do.

I know you've heard my story before. Back in 2012 I was living in Chile with my wife, and I walked out of my office one day to find her standing at the open refrigerator.

She looked at me and said, “Honey, we need food.” I had $7 in my PayPal account.

That was all the money I had to my name. Something snapped in me that day.

I created 10 videos in one single day and just went after it relentlessly. Within 90 days I had my first five-figure month.

No AI can tell that story. It's mine and nobody can replicate it.

And your stories are yours. Your personal stories that illustrate what it is you do to serve people, and your client stories too.

How has your content, your business, your product transformed other people's lives? Weave those in constantly.

4. Your Personality

Number four is your personality. What's odd and unique about you?

What would you weave into your content if you took off the professional uniform and shared a little bit about yourself?

Maybe you're a BMX dude like me. Maybe you crank Motley Crue and Metallica while you work and you're not the least bit sorry about it.

That stuff matters more than you think. Nobody connects with a polished professional robot.

They connect with a real human being who has quirks and opinions and a life outside of business. Being real beats trying to look perfect, every single time.

Stop Competing on Information

Let me give you the recap. Beliefs, values, story, personality.

Those four things are the entire foundation of standing out in the marketplace today. Not better information, because the information game is over.

The information isn't what makes people stay. You are.

You need to realize something. You already have all four of these things inside you right now.

You don't need another course or another strategy before you start weaving them into your content. Just get started.

Pick one belief, one value, one story, or one weird thing about yourself and put it in your very next piece of content. Then do it again.

The more you do this, the more your brand builds itself. And that brand becomes an asset nobody can copy, not even AI.

So which of the four are you going to start with? Leave me a comment and let me know.

If this helped you, share it with somebody who needs it. Appreciate you, and we'll talk soon.

You rock,
