There are basically three fears people have when it comes to building their business online using video.

Video marketing has proven over and over again to be the most powerful way to make a connection with prospects like no other online.

Yet still, there are people that are not doing it because of their own apprehensions.

Over the years I have worked with literally thousands of students through courses, one on one coaching, and on stage at events, and these three fears are usually the biggest that hold people back.

Fear #1: “I Might Sound Stupid”

I can't begin to tell you how many of my students over the years have told me they are afraid of not saying the right thing.

They are afraid that what they say is not important enough or that people won't get value from what they are saying.

What I have found a lot of times when it comes to this fear is that people are really subconsciously comparing themselves to the guru.

Yes, it is true.

As you come online you enlist in training courses, webinars, and other training from people that have gone the path before you to learn what they are doing and work to emulate it.

This is a good thing, but it can also be a hindrance that plays on your own insecurities and apprehensions.

Let me explain.

Many times us humans subconsciously compare ourselves with other people that are doing better than us in our industry.

We tend to compare the worst of ourselves, with the best of the guru. Make sense?

Have you ever done that? I know I have in the past and it always caused me to have a roadblock to overcome.

This is a really bad thing to do as it is not an apples-to-apples comparison rather it's an apples-to-oranges comparison.

Comparing yourself to others is a very unwise thing to do.

Your journey is different many times from others and the temptation to compare your success to others is something you should never give in to.

You have value right where you are and who you are. People that are not attracted to the guru may be attracted to you and your message.

Always keep this in mind.

You have a distinct value that makes you special, so don't minimize it because of a false narrative in your head. You have value to give.

Fear #2: “I Look Horrible on Video”

Yes, believe it or not, this is a big one.

Many of us are too afraid that we might gain 10 pounds on the camera and look silly to the person viewing.

This is a real fear, but…

Did you know that we are harder on ourselves way more than others are on us?

It's true.

Let me ask you a few questions?

How often do you look at yourself in the mirror when you walk by it?

How many times a day are you overly concerned about your hair or makeup?

If you are like most people, probably pretty often.

It's not a bad thing to be concerned with your looks, but when it holds you back from living life, it's not a good thing.

Especially you ladies. You are beautiful just the way you are. Men, you are awesome, just the way you are.

People are looking for realness nowadays. They don't want fake. They don't want glitz or glamour, they want someone that they can relate to and that understands their struggles.

They want someone that feels the same as them without all of the fancy surroundings and decorations.

Share value and stop worrying so much about your appearance. If you have a self-confidence issue, you can work on that.

It first starts with dealing with the next fear on the list.

Fear #3: “I'm Afraid I Will Be Rejected”

This fear is the basis of all fear. It's the one each of us is tempted to give in to each and every day.

Of course, each of us wants to be liked and loved. None of us want to be made fun of or not get along with others.

But understand this, nobody that has changed the course of history has done it without having its detractors or haters.

Some of the most polarizing people in history that changed civilizations and cultures were met with great praise as well as condemnation by their haters.

The point is, that you will have people that don't see your vision, and you will have people that reject you and say nasty things about you.

But you know what? Their opinions of you mean nothing.

It's your dream. Are they paying your bills? Are they putting food on your table?

If not tell them where they can stick it. People tend to criticize what they can't produce and attempt to bring others down with them.

Don't let it happen to you!

Who cares what others think about you. Who cares if they reject you. Just know that there are people out there that will love your message and the value you have to give.

Stay focused on serving those that love you and appreciate you and you will have a winning business.
